First steps

On first launch blu creates five demo projects so you can try addressing right away:

BlobName
🔵 blueLantern
🔴 redPortfolio
🟢 greenBot
🟡 yellowBlog
🟣 purpleLanding

They use the test agent (“Mock agent (test)”), which pretends to work and never touches files. Delete them or point them at real folders whenever you like.

Press ⌥Space (or ⌃⌥Space if the first one is taken — the menu bar menu shows the actual shortcut) and type:

Blue, make a menu

The blue blob starts working. Then try:

  • Bot, what's up? — the status of a project.
  • Blue, no, change the sidebar instead — refines the current task instead of starting a new one.
  • Lantern, show the result — opens the result.
  • Blue, stop the task — cancels it.

Press ⌥⇧Space or the microphone button in the command bar, and say the same things out loud. The blob answers with a short “oop-oop”, and the voice tells you when the task is done. See Voice.

  1. Right-click a blob → New blob. It appears under the cursor with a temporary name after its color.
  2. Drop a project folder from Finder onto the blob. It becomes the main folder and gives the blob its name.
  3. Open the editor (More… in the panel next to the blob, or Edit… in its menu) and pick the agent: Claude or Codex.
  4. Talk to it: “Shop, add a dark theme”.

You can also create a blob by text or voice: “a new blob”, “create a project Shop”.

  • Drag a blob to move it. Its place on the screen is something you can address it by.
  • Scroll or pinch over a blob, or use Bigger / Smaller in its menu, to resize it.
  • The menu bar menu opens the main window with all blobs in one space. Floating mode can be turned off there or in the settings.
