On your Mac
Section titled “On your Mac”| What | Where |
|---|---|
| projects, tasks, conversations | ~/Library/Application Support/blu/blobs.sqlite |
| agent working copies | ~/Library/Application Support/blu/Worktrees/ |
| the OpenAI key, MCP secrets | the macOS Keychain |
The development build (blu dev) keeps all of this separately, in blu.dev/ and its own Keychain items.
What goes to OpenAI
Section titled “What goes to OpenAI”For parsing a command and for the voice: your utterance, the projects’ names, aliases and colors, the blobs’ places in words, short task statuses and the recent lines of the conversation. Audio streams to the voice model while the microphone is on and is never saved. Requests are sent with storage off.
What goes to the agents
Section titled “What goes to the agents”The task text, the folders, and the project’s MCP servers. The agents (Claude, Codex) work under your own accounts and terms; blu never reads their tokens.
iCloud
Section titled “iCloud”Projects and prompts can sync through iCloud when the app is signed with an iCloud container. Folders, tasks, paths and secrets stay on the Mac.
